Seth T. Hodges was a significan individual in the history of Macoupin Co. Il. He donated property to create the city. He lived in section 28 of So. Palmyra. He fell into a well in 1841, broke a leg from which he never recovered. I am searching a new article of that event. I have been going through the Alton Telegraph frame by frame, but the paper changes name about the time he did. He died 18 June 1841. His probate was printed in the same paper in that fall. The paper changed to Telegraph Democratic Review. Does anyone have access to a microfilm, of that paper or another that might tell of his fall and death.
