A soldier of the war of 1812 & 15, and one of the gallant sons of Kentucky who gained immortal fame under Maj. CROGHAN, and one of the pioneer settlers of Illinois. For the last seven or eight years of his life he has been a helpless cripple and his sufferings have been borne with patience and fortitude worthy of imitation.
