Article Text: LIBERTY, Ill. " Mary K. Goehl, 88, of Sunset Home in Quincy, formerly of 2054th N. 1050th Ave., Liberty, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday (May 11, 2008) in the nursing home. She was born on Jan. 5, 1920, in Clayton. She was a daughter of Mertz and Helen Barry Zanger. She married Ralph Goehl on Nov. 17, 1951, in Lewis County, Mo. He died on July 24, 1955. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She worked at Moorman Manufacturing Co. for 19 years. She previously worked at St. Francis School in Quincy as a cook. Mary enjoyed attending card parties, ice cream socials, making quilts, visiting with family and friends on the phone and watching “Wheel of Fortune.” She also greatly loved her dog, “Buster.” Survivors include her children, Helen Tuter and her husband, Johnny, of Loraine, Judy Lair of Liberty and Sheila Goehl, also of Liberty: five grandchildren, Kelly Zanger and his wife, Robyn, Tim Tuter and his wife, Nicole, Mickey Tuter, Jeff Lair and his wife, Tammy, and ! Jeremy Lair and his wife, Heather; six geat-grandchildren, Kyle and Katlyn Zanger, Kelsey and Jeffrey Lair and Johannah and Hayley Lair; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, William Zanger; one grandson, James Tuter; two brothers, Melvin Zanger and Mertz Zanger Jr.; and one sister, Pauline Shoop. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m.. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church near Quincy with the Rev. Jeff Stone conducting. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Quincy. VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with a prayer service at 5 p.m. MEMORIALS: Sunset Home, St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
