Article Text: Denny F. Gant, 37, Pittsfield, died Monday, April 28,2008 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. after a six month illness. He was born Nov. 10, 1970 in Pittsfield to Dewey F. and Edith K. Buchanan Gant. He was a 1988 graduate of Pittsfield High School and attended Quincy Tech in Quincy. He was a member of the Nebo Christian Church. He was employed by Oitker Ford in Barry as a mechanic. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and woodworking. He is survived by his mother, Edith M. Gant of Pittsfield; a daughter, Micole Guthrie-Gant of Pleasant Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey F. Gant; maternal grandparents, Harold and Juanita Buchanan; and paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Sadie Gant. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1 at 11 a.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday. Burial will be at Nebo Cemetery.
