He was born June 27, 1925 to Abraham and Lettie Poor Goewey in Belleview. He married Velma M. Burge May 31, 1944 in Pittsfield and she survives. He was self employed as a lifelong grain and livestock farmer. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in Germany. He enjoyed duck hunting in his earlier years. He is survived by his wife, one son, Marion Lee Goewey of Towanda; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters and two sons, Michael Ray and James A. "Jimmie" Goewey. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Bro. Wilson Ramsey. Burial with military honors will be at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
