" Ernest J. “Ernie” Klauser, 94, of North Adams Home in Mendon, formerly of Loraine, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday (May 11, 2008) in the home. He was born March 9, 1914, in Quincy, a son of Robert and Josephine Huber Klauser. He married Martha M. Peter on May 6, 1944, in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Quincy. She died Jan. 27, 1997. Ernie was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He was a lifelong dairy farmer. In later years he owned Ernie’s Saw Sharpening in Loraine. He liked playing euchre and checkers, and he was a family man whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. Survivors include five sons, Floyd Klauser, Richard Klauser and his wife, Reita, of Mendon, Cletus Klauser of Kansas City, Mo., Virgil Klauser and wife, Diana, of Mendon, and Loren Klauser and his wife, Sherry, of Ursa; two daughters, Ida Fleer and her husband, Steven, and Carlene Spohr and her husband, Ben, all of Quincy; 16 grandchildren, Gail Mast and her husband, Gary, of Fowl! er, Ryan Klauser and his wife, Jayna, of Fowler, Clinton Klauser of Mendon, Brian Fleer of Quincy, Jason Fleer and his wife, Danielle, of Mendon, Stacy Fleer of Quincy, Ange Heming and her husband, Steven, of Quincy, Kara Korosec and her husband, Bill, of Chicago, T.J. Spohr and his special friend, Rosemary Yi, of Chicago, Bridget Ormond and her husband, Lance, of Springfield, Brooke Klauser of Mendon, Josh Klauser and his wife, Nikki, of Ursa, Jesse Klauser of Kirksville, Mo., and Ashley, Adam and Cole Klauser, all of Ursa; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Klauser of Mendon; a sister, Dorothy Mast of Fowler; and a brother-in-law, Norbert Peter of Quincy. Nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy; a daughter, Rita Mae Klauser; and five brothers and sisters, Leonard Klauser, Mildred Schreacke, Bernice Bockhold, and Alvin and Robert Klauser. SERVICES: 9:15 a.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Fun! eral Home in Quincy, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Edward Cath olic Church in Mendon, conducted by the Rev. Louis Schlangan.
