He then went on to receive his bachelor of science at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo., and his master's degree at Western Illinois University. Dick was a successful coach and teacher in the Hamilton School District for 33 years. The family would like to thank Dick's special caretakers, Judith Kinman and Lois Lefler. Dick is survived by four children, Dorian "Dee" Kinman and his wife, Janet, of Springville, Ind., Travis "T.J." He was born January 4, 1919 in Anada, Mo. son of the late Roy Lee and Louisa C. Irvine Barnes. He married Ellen Goodin on September 15, 1963 in Pittsfield, Il. and she survives. Also surviving are several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a half-brother Harry Barnes. Mr. Barnes was raised on the Welch-Long farms between Anada, Missouri and Elsberry, Missouri. In 1941 he and his father operated the Mad River Farms near Anada, Mo. for several years. In 1967 Sammy and Ellen moved to Pittsfield, Il. where they farmed until he retired in 1982. Sammy attended Elsberry, Mo. schools where he graduated in 1937. He was an avid coin collector all his life and also was a sports card collector. He accepted Christ in 1937 and served in various capacities in the Detroit Christian Church in Detroit, Il. for most of his life. Donna was born Jan. 30, 1922 on a farm near Perry, Illinois, the daughter of John Ray and Marie Daigh Hannant, descendents of many early Pike County pioneers. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Owen Hannant, Margaret Ada Hannant, Gordon Hannant, Richard Hannant and Jean Hannant Reese. She got a good education at Dexter School, the one-room schoolhouse near her home. At age eleven, she won the Pike County Spelling Bee. In 1938, she graduated from Perry High School, a member of its largest class. On July 21, 1941 (also her sister Jean's birthday), she married Roy Yockey, Jr. of Perry Illinois at Mt. Vernon Place Methodist Church in Washington, DC. She worked for the Navy Department during and after World War II. While Roy was in the army, she shared a house t! here with six other women in similar situations. When Roy returned from the war, he got a job at the Pentagon. The family moved to Alexandria Virginia, where their daughter Karen was born in 1949. In 1958, Donna got a job working in the Cadet Corps and later the guidance office at George Washington High School in Alexandria, where Karen was a student from 1963 through 1965. In 1965, the family moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Roy took a job at Randolph Air Force Base and Donna worked for the army at Fort Sam Houston. Her grandson Rylan Richard Bosher was born in 1971. In 1982, she retired from Federal service. Donna and Roy bought a trailer and travelled extensively, visiting friends and family. Together, they visited 49 states. Roy died in 2001, soon after their 60th anniversary. In 2003, Donna moved to Austin, Texas, to be closer to her family. Her great-granddaughter Zoe Bay Bosher was born in 2004. She was eagerly anticipating the impending birth of a second great-gra! nddaughter. Donna liked travel, cooking, sewing and crafts. She was an avid game player, enjoying Scrabble, dominoes, and cards. She loved the hummingbirds who came year after year to her backyard feeder. She loved to entertain, tell stories and tease people. She was a devoted correspondent with her many friends and relatives, and loved talking on the telephone. She enjoyed going back to Perry, to see family and friends. She also remained close to her many San Antonio and Alexandria friends and neighbors. Donna is survived by daughter, Karen Yockey O'Quin, her husband Jack O'Quin, grandson, Rylan Bosher, his wife Tonya Petty Bosher and their daughter Zoe Bay Bosher. Tonya's mother, Donna Petty, was both family and friend to her, as were step-grandchildren, Maya Quin, Joshua O'Quin, and Michael O'Quin. Elizabeth Hannant and Mary Louise Hannant are her surviving sisters-in-law. She also loved her many nieces, nephews and their families. The family wishes to thank the many caring people at The Summit Northwest Hills, Westminster Manor, Hospice Au! stin, Janet Arnold and Dr. Michael Pellegrini. We could not have done it without you! She was a member of the Methodist Church. She quilted with the Hull & Payson quilt groups. She loved quilting, swedish weaving, baking and cooking, bluegrass music, boat racing, harvesting pecans at the river, traveling in the bus and enjoyed many many adventures with her family and friends. Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. And with every one she met, her quilt of life grew with patterns and stitches of love. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, July 23, from 4 - 8 pm and the funeral will be Thursday, July 24, at 10 am. Both will be held at the Niebur Funeral Home in Barry, with graveside services following the funeral at the Shearer Cemetery in New Canton. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and his pets he was especially fond of spending time with his family and friends. Farm Service Agency in Pittsfield for 32 years before her retirement. Eileen was a member of the Griggsville United Methodist Church in Griggsville, where she was very active in the church and a member of the Dorcas Circle and the United Methodist Women at the church. She was also a member of Lady's Bridge Club, Pike Co. Dance Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Needlecraft Club through the church. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville. Burial will be in Griggsville Cemetery. Elmo and Mary lived for many years in Winchester until she retired from teaching. They then retired to the farm near Nebo. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He farmed many years and loved raising cattle. Elmo loved woodworking, collecting pocket knives , and growing purple flowers. Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, from 4-6 p.m. July 23 at the Airsman Hires funeral home in Pittsfield. A memorial service and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home with family friend, Rev. Jerry Nichols officiating. He was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the Administrative Council, Finance Com., Pastor-Parish Relations Com., and was currently serving on the Board of Trustees. John was a member of the Pittsfield Rotary Club and served as president, Pittsfield Lodge #790 A.F.& A.M., Quincy Consistory, Ansar Shrine Temple and Pike County Shrine Club. He was a founder and chairman of the Illini Community Healthcare Foundation, and a past member of the Illini Community Hospital Board serving for over 14 years. Survivors include his wife, Sue Teuscher of Pittsfield; daughter, Michelle (Dan) Walsh of Wake Forrest, N.C.; a son, Stuart (wife Michelle) Teuscher of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Laura Boyd of Tomball, Texas and son, Scott (wife Debbie) Sanderson of Simsbury, Ct.; two sisters, Elizabeth (John) Neff of Champaign and Ellen Teuscher of Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, Monty (wife Ginny) Tauscher of Gibson City; and his Godson, C. J.. Ingersoll of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren, Larry and William Walsh, Will and Alexa Teuscher, Megan, Kate and Jordan Boyd, and Austin, Evan and Colin Sanderson; one niece, Lori Neff; and three nephews Michael (wife Stacy) Neff, Dr. Matt (wife Mandy) Teuscher and Luke (wife Allison) Teuscher. He was preceded by his parents. Funeral services were Tuesday, July 22, at the Pittsfield United Methodist Church at 1 p.m., with Rev. Linda Peyla officiating. Burial was at Pittsfield West Cemetery.
