I also found out if I don't find it on one of the SSDI I may find it on another ( I have found several this way site) I normally use http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/fto_ssdisearch.html?Welcome=1084388869 if I can't find it there I go to http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=ssdi/search_ssdi.asp&clear_form=true I then try www.mytrees.com the SSDI search is free. My last source is Ancestry. I am not a supscriber but if I find one that is close I have a friend pull it up for me.
