    1. Re: [IL-OBITS] RE: So Sec death index
    2. I haven't had the problem but this is a guess. My mother, 90, has a SSN. But she worked less than 10 years and is collecting on my father's SS pension. I wonder if when she dies she will not show up for that reason? You could call the SS 800 number and ask why. Good luck though. Don't call MT, and be prepared to sit on the phone all day getting busy signals or waiting on infinite hold. Or if there's a SS office near you, go sit all day, getting there when they open. Somebody has to send the data to SS. I think it's the funeral home. So if they don't do it in a timely fashion, it doesn't get to SS in a timely fashion. And though the sites say its up to date through 2004 don't believe it. Sorry if all this sounds cynical. But we're dealing with a government bureacracy here. Yet I was there when they died so I know should be there. Jeannie fron OR In a message dated 5/30/2005 11:49:24 A.M. Also So Sec death index says its up to date though 2004 and I know someone died in 1990 and I have the So Sec number but its not there and I know he died in 1990 as I was married to him.. anyone know why the So Sec death index say's one thing and then you can't find the information. Anyone else have this problem. ==== IL-OBITS Mailing List ==== <a href="http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~obitl/volil.html">Illinois Lookup Web Page</a> ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records.
