Herbert Taylor Herbert W. Taylor, 83, of R.R. 7 died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at Mennonite Hospital. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Metzler Memorial Home. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. He was born June 15, 1895, in Orchard Township, a son of George Oliver and Anna Geyer Taylor. He married Goldie Hobson May 26, 1946. She survives, along with a daughter, Nola Massie, Mount Erie; two sons, Ira, Lansing, Mich., and Fred, Mount Erie; two stepdaughters, Nellie Burns, 902 S. Livingston St., and Mildred Jasper, R.R. 7; two stepsons, Verven Potter, Urbana, and Darrell Potter, Lodi, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and step grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-granchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a retired carpenter and worked at McLean County Animal Shelter until April 1978. He was a member of Carpenters Local 63.
