23 June 1955 Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Missionary Baptist Church in Ridgway for Mrs. Mary Jane Endicott, 79, whose death occurred at the Pearce Hospital in Eldorado on Wednesday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Rev. Chas. Holland, former local pastor, officiated at the final rites. Interment was in Camp Ground cemetery with arrangement by the Smith and Edwards funeral service. She leaves her step-mother, Mrs. Etta Tarrence, three sons, Burtis, Bryan, and Riley Endicott, all of Ridgway, and three daughters, Mrs. Maude Brown, Mrs. Anna Gregg and May Cox, also of Ridgway. Also surviving are two half brothers, Bill and Eugene Tarrence, two half sisters, Mary and Hattie, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The daughter of the late Dave and Ann Hedger Tarrence, she was born at Ridgway on August 10, 1876. She was married at Shawneetown to Sam J. Endicott, who preceded her in death.
