If my memory serves me right, in order to get the burial benefit the individual had to be living in the spouses house. My parents did not get the burial benefit because, they were not divorced, but did not live together atthe time of death. I believe that was the reason. They are both listed in the SS Index because the funeral home notified SS at the time they picked up the bodies. Also So Sec death index says its up to date though 2004 and I know someone died in 1990 and I have the So Sec number but its not there and I know he died in 1990 as I was married to him.. anyone know why the So Sec death index say's one thing and then you can't find the information. Anyone else have this problem. ==== IL-OBITS Mailing List ==== http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~obitl/volil.html ============================== New! Family Tree Maker 2005.
