    3. I don't know if this is the case or not on: your husband SSN not being in the Social Security Death index may be because you are still living. Are you collecting Social security off of his account? From what I understand is that they can not close out a Social Security number until it is no long being used by anyone.(Children spouses etc) I don't know about the place of death, except I've ran into several who have died in other parts of the country like second homes. For example there address was Ohio but they also lived in Florida. Hope this helps some ----- Original Message ----- From: "mamahop" <mamahop@pioneer-net.com> To: <IL-OBITS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 30, 2005 2:48 PM Subject: [IL-OBITS] RE: So Sec death index >I wanted a obit look up and got the death date from the So Sec death index > and the lady lived in the same town as where the So Sec death index said > she > died and the lady couldn't find anything....why does death index say > something and then no one can find anything...this has happened twice. > > Also So Sec death index says its up to date though 2004 and I know someone > died in 1990 and I have the So Sec number but its not there and I know he > died in 1990 as I was married to him.. > > anyone know why the So Sec death index say's one thing and then you can't > find the information.
