Doris you are right about people living together and not getting legally married. They would get their checks cut off. I read in a paper one time where this man and woman did get a divorce so she could get medical help and more money. BUT they could live together and did. I have a friend whose mother started living with a man. They knew they would lose their money so in place of going down and getting a license and get married legally, they set up in the womans back yard tables & chairs, invited their children to come and they repeated their vows to each other. The kids were satisfied. I know I lost four hundred dollars when we moved from CA to Mo. It sure hurts to. I feel women are not treated equal in SS.
