I was afraid that might be the case. Thank you for looking. Carol Our life may not always be the party we would have chosen, but while we are here, we may as well dance!
I was unable to find an obit for Alexander Young or Martha Young. I checked the Benton, IL (Franklin Co.) newspaper and didn't find either. I tried W. Frankfort, but their newspaper microfilms don't go back any further than 1919. Sorry. Anna

Linda, Do you know if Marilyn is deceased? I pulled up a Marilyn U. Carmean that died in Decatur in 1999, and she was born on 6/6/1929. Let me know, and I will try to see if I can locate an obit, since it was recent. Mark SC
I pulled them up on the 1930 Census, which you may already have. Anyway here it is: Name: Herman Utz Age: 40 Estimated birth year: abt 1890 Birthplace: Illinois Relation to head-of-house: Head Spouse's Name: Gertrude Utz Race: White Home in 1930: Illiopolis, Sangamon, Illinois Image source: Year: 1930; Census Place: Illiopolis, Sangamon, Illinois; Roll: 558; Page: 4B; Enumeration District: 65; Image: 316.0. Utz, Herman 40yrs. bnIL Head Gertrude 30yrs. bnIL Wife Kenneth 4yrs. bnIL Son Maralyn 1yr. IL Daughter Herman was 32 at first marriage and Gertrude was 22 at first marriage. Other Tidbits: The September 15, 1920 edition of the Decatur Daily Review (Decatur, IL) reports that Herman Utz was arrested for improper lights. The August 23, 1921 edition of the Decatur Daily Review (Decatur, IL) reports that Herman Utz is able to be out again after suffering from typhoid fever. The June 6, 1929 issue of Decatur Daily Review (Decatur, IL) reports that BORN-To Mr. and Mrs. Herman Utz, Niantic, Thursday morning is St. Mary's hospital, a daughter. The date of the birth would have been June 6, 1929, and is must be that of Maralyn Utz. As far as the obituary for Gertrude, I would send Margie Wollitz an email telling her what you need. She a librarian at the Decatur Public Library. She always helps me with obits. There is a $5 search fee for up to five obituaries. There is also a .50 fee for any copies made. So if you just need that one it would be $5.50 total. Send her an email at: mwollitz@decatur.lib.il.us, and she will be able to help you. She is very nice. If I can help you further, email me at vmb42484@aol.com. Sincerely, V. Mark Bray South Carolina
