    3. The individual may not have actually lived in the area in which she died. For example, if the individual died at a hospital or nursing home outside of the area they spent the majority of their life, an obituary may not have been published in that area but rather in their 'hometown'. As for the social security index, not all deaths are recorded in the index due to a variety of reasons. 3. One would think that after 15 years of being dead he would be on there. I don't get any widows from him as I worked and I remarried so don't anything...But due from my husband who passed away in 2004 and his death is on it. But not my half sister who died in 1982 or my ex-hubby who died in 1990 or my mother who passed away in 1983. And I turned that one in as did the State of CA as she was in a Care Home and the payments to them had to stop.

    3. I wanted a obit look up and got the death date from the So Sec death index and the lady lived in the same town as where the So Sec death index said she died and the lady couldn't find anything....why does death index say something and then no one can find anything...this has happened twice. Also So Sec death index says its up to date though 2004 and I know someone died in 1990 and I have the So Sec number but its not there and I know he died in 1990 as I was married to him.. anyone know why the So Sec death index say's one thing and then you can't find the information. 3. Thank you so much for your trouble, Carol. As a child of 6/8 years I visited my grandfather in West Frankfort several times. Looking for obituary of Herman S. Utz died May 18, 1955 in Illiopolis (Sangamon County) Illinois. They lived all their married life in Illiopolis (Sangamon County) Illinois. Time and again I've talked to people at the Illiopolis Sentinel on the phone and offered to pay them whatever they wanted for the obituaries, knowing that I have to be patient, but I think 2 years is being patient enough. Does anyone on this list have access to these records? 2. James C. Gordon
    3. Can someone look up an obituary for Delbert Gordon who died apparently in/near Baylis, IL, in Pike Co. some time in January of 1976? His wife, Blanche Cline Gordon, was/is a distant relative of mine. She was born in 1919, probably in Pike Co. I don't know if she's still living nor where she lives. Jim Gordon Hinsdale, IL
