    3. Hi Mary Jo, I would love to help you with this but you cannot even get this Polish newspaper thru interlibrary loan. You have to go to the Polish Genealogical Society on Milwaukee ave. to obtain a copy. :( Or you could send for it but I think they are asking $5 for a copy. I do hope you know someone that lives in Chicago or you could take a ride. It probably would take you about 45 minutes if the traffic is good. :) Sorry, Pam S., Volunteer for Cook county ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Jo Vepley" <mjvepley@calcon.net> To: <IL-OBITS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 7:35 AM Subject: [IL-OBITS] LANDOWSKI and KASZUBA > Good Morning! > Was wondering if I can get look-ups for LANDOWSKI, Teofil, notice on > 29 Oct 1926 in the Dziennik Chicagoski , death on 27 Oct 1926, age 37. > His notice also supposedly mentions a Helena KASZUBA, probably his > wife. 3. Good Morning! Was wondering if I can get look-ups for LANDOWSKI, Teofil, notice on 29 Oct 1926 in the Dziennik Chicagoski , death on 27 Oct 1926, age 37. His notice also supposedly mentions a Helena KASZUBA, probably his wife. Both buried at Resurrection; her stone just says "Helen LANDOWSKI". Apparently her obituary was not in the Dziennik Chicagoski, as it's not in the index. Also a KASZUBA, Adam, notice on 14 Dec 1915, death on 12 Dec 1915, same paper, aged 55. Probably her relation ... father? brother? Index on Chicago Gen. site says he is mentioned in his notice. Thanks! Mary Jo Gurnee, IL

    1. Social Security
    2. When I turned 62, I started collecting Social Security, which was quite a bit lower than what it would have been if I had waited until I was 65. When my husband passed away - 2 days before my 65th birthday, I called Social Security Office, to cancel his Social Security payments. At the same time, they put me on "Widow;s Benefits" which still included my Social Security payments, BUT THEY ADDED TO IT - TO BRING IT UP TO WHAT MY HUSBAND WAS COLLECTING. My Social Security at that time was 500.00. My husbands was 1254.00 They explained that I was collecting not only on what I had earned, but also from my husbands earnings. Needless to say, it has made it a little bit easier, financially, than if I was collecting only on mine. Hope this helps with some of the questions. 3. I would appreciate it if someone could help me access an obit for Mildred McNAMARA, buried April 28, 1951 at Holy Sepulchre, Alsip, IL. She was 46, according to the cemetery records. She was buried in the family plot of Walter McNAMARA, who married into our TULLY line. There is also another woman buried in this plot who appears to be a second--or maybe third--wife, according to that obit. But as I can't find an obit for Mildred McNamara in the Chicago Tribune, I don't know if she was a wife or possibly mother or unmarried sister of Walter's. Finding an obit for Mildred would help sort out all the children named in Walter's and the other wife's obits. I'm trying to get the "his, hers, and ours" lists in order! If anyone has access to obits for Chicago area in 1951 other than the Chicago Tribune (or a better index than what is already online for the Trib), I'd appreciate a lookup! Jacqi
