I don't have the obit you desire, but would suggest trying to get his death certificate. It would list more information on that, along with possible information of the funeral home that handled his services. I've found that some of the funeral homes will send you copies of their information along with the obit. Strange what they keep. I got a copy of the Dr's death certificate information that he had to fill out on my grandmother. Was quite full of information that I didn't have before. Just a suggestion. Although he had not been ill for many days he suffered considerably during the short time of his last illness, and death came at a great relief to the patient sufferer. Edwards of Kankakee whose death occurred at St. Mary's Hospital late Tuesday. Rev. Charlie Hedges officiated at the final rites and interment was in the church cemetery with arrangements by the Smith and Edwards funeral service. She was the sister of Mrs. George Brockett of Omaha, and Mrs. Ralph Edwards and Gayel Wilson of Norris City, the deceased was born in White County on February 7, 1897 where she was a resident until moving to Kankakee 31 years ago. She was married to Dempsey on August 15, 1923.
23 June 1955 Funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Missionary Baptist Church in Ridgway for Mrs. Mary Jane Endicott, 79, whose death occurred at the Pearce Hospital in Eldorado on Wednesday afternoon following a lengthy illness. Rev. Chas. Holland, former local pastor, officiated at the final rites. Interment was in Camp Ground cemetery with arrangement by the Smith and Edwards funeral service. She leaves her step-mother, Mrs. Etta Tarrence, three sons, Burtis, Bryan, and Riley Endicott, all of Ridgway, and three daughters, Mrs. Maude Brown, Mrs. Anna Gregg and May Cox, also of Ridgway. Also surviving are two half brothers, Bill and Eugene Tarrence, two half sisters, Mary and Hattie, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The daughter of the late Dave and Ann Hedger Tarrence, she was born at Ridgway on August 10, 1876. She was married at Shawneetown to Sam J. Endicott, who preceded her in death.
