    3. Ida E. Wesemann, 99, of Pingree Grove, passed away Friday, December 12, 2003 at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. She was born December 8, 1904 in Plato Township, the daughter of Adolph and Dorthea (Volkening) Plote. Mrs. Wesemann was raised in the North Plato area and she married Edward Wesemann on November 15, 1924 in North Plato. She and her husband operated the Udina Triangle from 1933 to 1943 and they then moved to a farm they had just purchased near Pingree Grove. After her husband's death in 1952, she worked as a cook at the Plato Center Grade School for 16 years and later at the Starks Triangle Drive-Inn for 20 years. She was a member of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Plato all her life. At the old church, she played the organ for five years from 1919 to 1924 and four more years during World War Two. She was also a member of the church's Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School for 20 years, and also was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Ida was an avid Cubs and Bulls fan. She is survived by one son, Edward (Marnie) Wesemann of Hampshire, one daughter-in-law JoAnne Wesemann of Daytona Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Carolyn (Dale) Hartmann of West Bend, WI, Douglas Wesemann and Philip Wesemann both of Elgin, and Gale (Robert) Irwin of Orlando, FL; great grandchildren, Garran Wesemann of Elgin, Lance, Josh, and Mark Hartmann all of West Bend, WI. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward; son Alvin in 1991; seven brothers, Adolph, Gustav, Herman, Ernst, Fred, William, and Carl; three sisters, Anna, Pauline, and Clara. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Rd., in North Plato with the Rev. Harold Ross officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the charity of one's choice.
