She was born July 22, 1921 in Elgin, the daughter of Carl and Mabel Lind Bohne. She had been a resident of Elgin all her life and was a graduate of Elgin High School, Class of 1939. Before raising her family, she was employed by Elgin Water Softner. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Elgin. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 799 of Elgin. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Witt of Elgin; and her son, David Witt of Elgin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward L. Witt in 1989; and one brother, Carl Bohne. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 7, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Radio Fund.
