Vincent Carsello formerly of Schaumburg since 1962 Funeral services for Vincent Carsello were held in Joplin, Mo. Mr. Carsello passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, in Joplin. He was a longtime resident of the Village of Schaumburg and was involved in civic activities beginning in the early sixties and was responsible for the Village of Schaumburg's motto, Progress Through Thoughtful Planning. Mr. Carsello chaired the committee to break away from the Roselle Rural Fire Department, which resulted in the establishment of Schaumburg's own fire department. Mr. Carsello served on the committee to form the Schaumburg Park District, he petitioned the Archdiocese of Chicago to place the first Catholic church in Schaumburg (St. Marcelline's), he served in the gratis position of Schaumburg Public Works Director, served on the committee to establish the first Schaumburg Post Office, served on the committee to purchase the sewer and water provided to the village from a private company which established ownership of these and future facilities to the Village of Schaumburg, was a member of the Republican Organization of Schaumburg Township, served as Schaumburg! Township campaign chairman for Congressman Donald Rumsfeld, Presidential Candidate Barry Goldwater, and Congressman Philip Crane and was founding member of the Schaumburg United Party. Vincent is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, Susan and Karen. Arrangements were handled by the Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
