I am looking for further information on the ROHDE family of Hildesheim, specifically Theodore Henry Rohde, his father, Ludwig Rohde, (who was a tax collector in Himmelsthuer, near Hildesheim), and any other members of the family. Theodore Rohde was born Oct. 14, 1831 and immigrated to the U.S. around 1868. He was a doctor, who got his medical schooling in Hildesia and Gottingen and reportedly was a surgeon in the Prussian Army. Sometime before his immigration, he was knighted. I have no further information on his father. All details on this family before Theodore's immigration are sparse. If you believe you may have further information on Ludwig, Theodore or their family, or if you think you may be descended from (one of) the same line(s), please get in touch!
