Gary E. Greve of Hampshire Funeral services for Gary E. Greve, 52, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Road, North Plato. Born July 27, 1951, in Elgin, the son of Elmer and Clara (nee Matthies) Greve, he passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in the Hampshire Center Cemetery. Mr. Greve was a 1969 graduate of Hampshire High School and a lifelong farmer. He was the fourth generation to operate the family farm in Hampshire Township. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Plato. Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia Greve (nee Roth), whom he married on April 3, 1993, in Hampshire; his daughters, Sara (Tim) Griebel of Ogema, Wis. and Sandy Potenza of Elgin; stepson Joe (Amanda) Roth of Hampshire; granddaughters Sara Potenza and Autumn Roth; his mother, Clara Greve of Hampshire; his sister, Carol Jean (David) Kujak of Elgin; and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer, in 1999. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire, and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gary's name may be made to the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the Hampshire Food Pantry.
