we have at present 63 members on LIST and 19 on Digest.... A whopping 82 members... ! actually, a pretty darn good figure for a locale list...... and i know that each of you have photos of those elders in your family....so, A REQUEST: one scan from each of you of the oldest elderS ~or~ the most prized old family photo in your possession.... (naturally schaumburg related - perhaps of the farmplace, a group pic in front of the house/barns.......) WITH full documentation regarding full names, birth/death years, and occasion..... FOR: HYPERION at STDL, so that we can ALL see it..... WHERE TO SEND the photo and details: [email protected] WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE NO SCANNER: go to your local library.... take the photo with you (unframed) take an empty disk with you, scan it with their scanner, and then at home, send a copy to [email protected] WHY: because we actually have very little of the old. Try as we might, we cannot recreate the old without the help of all. Most of the buildings are gone, few pictures of people remain, many of the elders who we might have been able to speak with are gone, or gone from the area, but YOU all are here and have many things at your disposal and can do many things from the comfort of your homes (thanks to the internet and computers and scanners...) and it is a way to help others without a lot of heavy research on your part.... can ya please send in something of your family group?
