1. There was a NIKE site south of NW Community Hospital. It had originally been a truck farmer's land, but in the 1950s (?) the government installed the silos for missles. This the towers might have been part of that complex. 2. think there was a tavern/dance hall in that location. It might have been mentioned in one of the interviews. Leona Boergener Schmahl and her friends went there with their boyfriends to dance. She said that it was owned by Mrs. Wytrykus - that would have been in the 1940s. There was a bar in the front and dance hall in the back. A group of men would bring their musical instruments such as concertinas and accordions, etc. to play for the dances. It was known as the Elk Grove Inn at that time. There was a good size parking lot and some other buildings. Might have had a mobile home???? Not sure about that. ltp
