Gertrude C. Koenig Funeral services for Gertrude C. Koenig, 91, of DeKalb, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. today, at Anderson Funeral Home, Ltd., 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, with the Rev. E. George Krause of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Born Jan. 26, 1912, in Cherokee County, Iowa, the daughter of Julius J. Boldenow and Catharina Boldenow (nee Ehlers), she passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at her home. Burial will follow services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Schaumburg. Gertrude graduated from Concordia College in Sewerd, New England, and had taught in parochial and the public schools until retirement. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb. She is survived by one nephew and six nieces. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhard. A memorial is being established for Gertrude C. Koenig in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O.
