Harold R. "Mickey" Thomas formerly of Itasca A celebration of the life of Harold R. "Mickey" Thomas, 67, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, in the Carrollwood Chapel at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., Tampa, Fla. Born in 1935, in Itasca, Ill., he passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, after complications following heart surgery. Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the Army and was honorably discharged as an expert gunner. He was a member of the Tampa Bay Beekeepers Association and the Moose Lodge #400 in Aurora, Ill. Mickey's hobbies included fishing, beekeeping, golfing and bowling. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dee (Doris); children, Michael and David Thomas and Tammy Jones; stepchildren, Barry, Dawn, Fred, Kimberly and Brian Harper, Donna Kundrot and Stephanie Stage; brothers, Allen "Snooky", Wayne "Punky" and Donald Thomas; sister, Nancy Schielke; 22 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. Monday, in the funeral chapel.
