Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Born July 27, 1929, in Chicago, the daughter of Henry and Sophia Franz, she died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago. Mrs. Grothendieck had worked as an accountant for the Schaumburg Township for over 10 years. Ruth was the wife of Ralph Grothendieck; mother of Donna (Tim) Lucido; Kenneth (Dawn) and the late Bryan Betten; sister of four brothers; four sisters; aunt of many nieces and nephews; and great-aunt of grand-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.
