Scharringhausen of Hampshire A funeral service for Wesley Norman Scharringhausen, 82, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St., St. Charles. Pastor Dave Trosper will officiate. Born March 9, 1921, in Arlington Heights, the son of George and Alma (nee Mess) Scharringhausen, he died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Bethany Health Care and Rehabilitation in DeKalb. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. A lifelong farmer, Mr. Scharringhausen farmed in the Arlington Heights area, the Danada land in Wheaton and the Hampshire area. At the age of 80, he was still baling hay. He and his wife, Rosana, were members of the Illinois Steampower Club, and he enjoyed attending the Country Evangelical Covenant Church in Elgin. Wesley is survived by his children, Laura (Robert) Hyde of Glen Ellyn, Fred (Joyce) Scharringhausen of Gold Canyon, Ariz., Barbara Flock of Aurora, Kevin (Kris) Scharringhausen of Batavia, Jack (Kristin) Scharringhausen of St. Charles and Thomas (Holly) Scharringhuasen of Batavia; grandchildren, B.J. (Amy) Flock, Kelly (Aaron) Woodward, John (Summer), Thomas and Jill Scharringhausen, Nicholas and Ginevra Scharringhausen, and Carrie, David and Katlyn Scharringhausen; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Meghan Flock, and Jacob Scharringhuasen; and a brother, Embert Scharringhausen of Mount Prospect. In addition to his parents, Mr. Scharringhausen was preceded in death by his wife, Rosana Dorthea Scharringhausen on Feb. 7, 2001; granddaughter, Kelsey Leanne Scharringhausen on June 19, 2000; and his son-in-law, Bernard Joseph Flock in 1989. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services Thursday, at the funeral home.
