I happened to notice while at another's computer yesterday, that I was not able to get to the DOCUMENTS on the STDL library website HYPERION. HORRORS!!!!!! This is a very important situation if you are trying to view documents and stories that are on that site for your research.... To correct that, I have listed below a FREE download which is universally accepted as a standard for viewing pdf files on many websites throughout the world. People call it ADOBE or ACROBAT or ACROBAT READER...it is all the same thing...and totally acceptable by tech gurus...and the world.... it is NOT a large application and so I do not think you will have any problems with having it remain on your computer for OTHER pdf viewing ...This might explain why some people cannot see pdf files on results from google.com or that youc computer hangs up or your computer says something like "pick an application form this list to open this document" This download will eliminate that..... Just a little more info for you...... pdf files are PORTABEL DOCUMENT FORMATS - methods of individuals making available to you a document that mirrors their original document without you having to worry about HOW they composed that document. It is just a method of presenting information and cannot harm your computer. So below is the link to click to download. You will be asked some questions in part of this loading process...just click your way thru them....and remember - first... it is a safe download, like I said, used universally....throughout the world... second, you will want to put it in your computer under programs....not in MY DOCUMENTS.....(you will get a prompt) and then you will likely see an icon for this on your desk top..... after you have loaded it, double left click on the icon and let it get planted or executed in your computer and on the desk top as a valid icon and application (computer program)....the icon might change to a color rather than a black and white kinda picture...... then try to go to www.stdl.org<http://www.stdl.org/> and click on local history... then click on hierarchy at the top... then click on documents and see what you can find there... If you have any problems, get back to me.... for if you cannot see these things, then a lot of work that many people are doing is being lost to you..... http://download.com.com/3000-2378-10000062.html<http://download.com.com/3000-2378-10000062.html>
