Karen, I have come across the Geweke family in Iowa during my researches. There seems to have been more than one that settled in the Bremer County area. I maintain the Founding Families File at the Waverly Library. I have more questions than answers about the Gewekes, but it does seem that the people you were inquiring about were members of the St. John Lutheran, Crane Creek, rural Tripoli, Iowa congregation. There is record of a Heinrich Geweke/Louise Sophie Niemeier wedding there in 1877. Let me know what you can determine. It will help clear up my files. Steve Meyerhoff
