    3. Virginia F. Dodge formerly of Arlington Heights Virginia F. Dodge (nee Farrell) passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in her sleep in Santa Ana, Calif. She was born June 8, 1905, in Elizabeth, Ill. She will be buried next to her husband, Thurman J. Dodge, in St. Mary's Cemetery in Elizabeth. He preceded her in death in 1986. Virginia graduated from Northern Illinois State Teachers College at DeKalb in 1925, and moved to Arlington Heights to teach school at North School for two years. She became postmaster of Arlington Heights in 1935, and remained in that position for 36 years, until her retirement in 1971. She was also in charge of the Rolling Meadows and Elk Grove Village post offices. Upon her retirement, she and her husband moved to Mesa, Ariz. where she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. She belonged to the Arizona Plate and Collectibles Club, Tri-City Bottle Club and AARP. She was also past president of the Segauro Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, past president of the Zonta Club of Northwest Cook County, former member of the Mount Prospect BPW Club, and member of the Illinois Chapter 6 National Association of Postmasters for 35 years. Surviving are her daughter, Kay Liebl; son-in-law, Gary Liebl; and granddaughter, Nicole Curtis. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.
