Link, 87, of Sterling, Ill., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Rock Falls Community Building, Rock Falls, Ill. Born May 28, 1916, in Minneapolis, the son of Adolph and Estelle (nee Jackson) Link, he died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, at the Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home. Cremation was private. Robert served in the Air Corps during World War II. He married Blanche Link on Dec. 18, 1946, in Knoxville, Tenn. They lived in Schaumburg and he was employed by Roselle Building Material Co. of Roselle for many years. He later owned and operated a Coast to Coast store in Vandalia, Mo. for 10 years, until his retirement. He served as a member of the Schaumburg School District 54 School Board and the Schaumburg Planning Commission. He was a member of Rock Falls United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #902 Rock Falls. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and the study of physics and astronomy. Robert is s! urvived by his wife; his daughter, Pat (Donald L.) of Sterling; his son, Gary (Janice) of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren; and by a sister, Mary Lou Reynolds of Schaumburg.
