Mr. Albrecht, a Chicago native, retired in 1985 as a manager with Ameritech after 28 years of service. Mr. Albrecht was also a retired Navy captain with 30 years of combined active and reserve duty. "I knew him as a retired Navy captain and a member of our post," said Marty Naughton, past commander of American Legion Merle Guild Post No. 208, Arlington Heights. "He was a very quiet man. He listened. When he talked, he spoke the truth. He spoke fact. People listened to him," Naughton said. "He was a shrewd man concerning business. He was on our board of directors. He was one of our own." Survivors include a daughter, Susan Smith; a son, Jeffrey; and one grandson. A visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N.
