    2. .... valentine53179
    3. i know that i know how to spell this name... but do you think that i would have spelled it correctly on a recent obit.... duh! but this is a reminder for all those names where there are two vowels together.... whenever you are doing computer searches, cover all the bases and use both versions....or ALL versiions. people, like me, make mistakes all the time... they think one thing and type another and then forever those mistakes are in public records or indexed listing.... ditto with birthdates... i have seen many instances where the birthdate is incremented by one.... likely because we hear the number and as we write it we are counting in our head and write the next number.... so, all you folks scouting freIse, be sure to use freYse and friEse... especially in the archives of these lists - [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]

    3. Originally it was Freyse and then was changed to Freise (see the descendant report that I previously posted). You are correct regarding trying multiple spellings. I have found several mistakes when searching the SSDI. ----- Original Message ----- From: ".... valentine53179" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 11:31 AM Subject: [ILckSCH] Friese or Freise or Freyse and the winner FREISE > i know that i know how to spell this name... > but do you think that i would have spelled it correctly on a recent obit.... duh! > > but this is a reminder for all those names where there are two vowels together.... > whenever you are doing computer searches, cover all the bases and use both versions....or ALL versiions. > > people, like me, make mistakes all the time... > they think one thing and type another and then forever those mistakes are in public records or indexed listing.... > > ditto with birthdates... i have seen many instances where the birthdate is incremented by one.... > likely because we hear the number and as we write it we are counting in our head and write the next number.... > > so, all you folks scouting freIse, be sure to use freYse and friEse... > especially in the archives of these lists - > [email protected] > [email protected] > [email protected] > > > > > ==== IL-COOK-SCHAUMBURG Mailing List ==== > To post: [email protected] > To Search: http://listSEARCHES.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listSEARCH.pl?list=il-cook-schaumbu rg > Note: YOU will need to add RG to SCHAUMBU in the Query box and Enter.... > ARCHIVES: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/il-cook-schaumburg > Unsubscribe at [email protected] or -D > If there is a system problem and you cannot get to valentine, go here....http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help.cgi look for info about LIST2 lists.
