    3. I am scanning the results of queries surnames that i know were in our area... I am only clipping those obits where I recognize some of the relatives or there is an indication that these are Schaumburg area people.... or from around our area. I note the number of results in () so that the reader has an idea of the volume that i started with. Remember that the search produces any obit with the searched name, not just those with the name in the subject of the obit... Because of this, obits may be duplicated over time. You will notice what appears to be duplicates as well. This is because the obits were run on several days and I have not done a comparison to see if they are exactly the same. Corrections may have been made if there were errors. in the material you will notice that the heading on the obit may not be in the cluster noted in the subject. it is included because somewhere in that obit, is the referenced name. greve (70) hattendorf (68) hammerstein (23) harmening (31) hasse (70) heide (91) heiden (101) hoeske (4) homeyer (58) greve (70) 1983-12-03 Chicago Tribune (IL) GREVE Edition: Chicago Tribune Dina Behrens Greve, 98, former 80 year resident of Schaumburg, beloved wife of the late William H.; loving mother of Edna (Herman F.) Record Number: 19941221OB9412210098 1984-10-17 Chicago Tribune (IL) Henry Homeier, 86, Palatine farmer Kenan Heise Edition: Chicago Tribune HENRY WILLIAM HOMEIER, a Palatine farmer for more than 70 years, served on church, school, park and fire boards in rural Palatine. Services for Mr. Homeier, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John United Church of Christ, Roselle and Algonquin Roads, Palatine. He died Sunday in an Elgin nursing home. The farm home in which Mr. Homeier was born in 1898 is now marked with a centennial plaque. His grandfather, a German immigrant, purchased the land, which is now part of Palatine, in the 1840s or 1850s from the government. His wife, Edna, was born and raised on the farm across the road. "HE LOVED farming," his wife said. "After the area around us was built up and became residential, he did not subdivide. This was all farmland, but then in the 1960s people started to sell. We didn't. He wanted to stay on the farm. He liked it." For most of his life, Mr. Homeier worked a 107-acre dairy farm that produced grain, oats, hay and corn with which to feed the cows. After the cows were sold, the Homeiers raised chickens. He retired three years ago and the farm is now run by a relative. "Uncle Hank was a very social man interested in all the activities going on around him," said Delores Nelson, a niece. "He was very outgoing and alert." MR. HOMEIER was a trustee of the rural fire department for many years, and served on rural park, school and church boards from the 1930s through the '60s. He also was a member of the board of Blue Cross-Blue Shield and Health Improvements. "He enjoyed being on all those boards and working at all his projects," his wife said. His wife is his only immediate survivor.
