Mabel M. Rateike of Mount Prospect for 65 years Funeral services for Mabel M. Rateike (nee Schuler), 89, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School, Mount Prospect. She will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Born Sept. 15, 1914, in Niles Township, she died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mabel was a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Rateike; mother of Calvin (Nancy) Rateike, Lee (Karlene) Rateike, Charlotte (Lue) Skilskyj and the late Beverly (William) Hering; sister of Frank (Marie) Schuler, Violet (the late Joe) Papenbrok and the late Herbert, Elmer, Walter and William Schuler and Myrtle Allison; and fond sister-in-law of Ella Erber Rateike. Mabel is also survived by five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; several great-stepgrandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
