    3. Elmer P. Wille formerly of Roselle Services for Elmer P. Wille, 79, of Genoa, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Genoa. The Rev. E. Timothy Frick will officiate. Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Elk Grove, the son of Edward and Alvina (nee Buchholz) Wille, he died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Burial will be in Genoa Cemetery. Mr. Wille was a 1942 graduate of Elgin Community High School and a veteran of the Army. He was an engineering consultant for the Village of Roselle for 29 years and also a volunteer fireman for the Roselle Fire Department. Elmer married Darlene Michaels on July 17, 1954, in Roselle, where they made their home until August of 1987. Elmer enjoyed life to the end, celebrating the holidays and his birthday with his entire family and dear friends by his side. After his retirement, he liked working in the yard, collecting trains and tinkering with old trucks and tractors, bowling, playing pool and cards with friends and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Darlene; son, Edward (Dee) Wille of Genoa; daughters, Tina (Tim) Sparks of Kirkland and Rhonda (Randy) Kohout of Genoa; grandchildren, Kristin and Kyle Wille, Glenn, Justin and Amy Wille, Shannon Santi, and Blake and Haley Kohout; great-grandson, Colin King; sister, Irene Leitch of Elmhurst; brother, Melvin (Marilyn) Wille of Itasca; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Slater-Butala Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the DeKalb County Hospice, c/o Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL 60135.
