    3. Edward W. Kane of Huntley Funeral services for Edward W. Kane, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Zion Lutheran Church, 408 Jackson St., Marengo, with the Rev. Glen Borhart officiating. Born Jan. 13, 1930, in Elgin, the son of Donald and Edna (nee Cox) Kane, he passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Sherman West Court, Elgin. Burial with military honors will be in Huntley Cemetery. Edward was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a corporal in the Army. He was a member of American Legion Post #57 of Elgin, the Carpentersville V.F.W., the Elgin Moose and formerly of the Fraternal Orders of Eagles and also the Owls. Edward was also a former Little League coach in Elgin. He worked in the plating department at the Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works in Elgin for 36 years. Edward was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Marengo. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Linnenkohl Kane, who he married June 8, 1968 in Elgin; his sisters, Norma (William) Markwardt of Batavia, Delores (William) Pierce of DeKalb, Clara (William) Athey of Morrisonville, Linda (Tim) Sphatt of Rockford, Laura (Dan) Gaydosh of Crystal Lake; his brothers, Don (Kay) Kane of Lake Kiowa, Texas and Lee (Linda) Kane of Ogden, Utah; several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and special friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the church. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
