Frances C. Mensing of Prospect Heights Funeral services for Frances C. Mensing, 93, formerly of Algonquin, will be held at 6 p.m. today, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Born March 23, 1910, in Elgin, the daughter of Herman and Mabel (nee Nyberg) Seaman, she died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Before retiring Frances worked as a secretary at ITW for over 22 years. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She was an avid Bridge player and fan of all the Chicago professional teams. Frances spent her summers at Fish Lake Beach Campground, where she enjoyed visiting with her neighbors and their pets. She is survived by her children, the Rev. Glenn (Sharon) Mensing of Richmond, Ill., Donna Halvorsen of Prospect Heights, Robert (Geri) Mensing of Algonquin and John (Connie) Mensing of Raleigh, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Helen Mensing; sisters, Dorothy Wescher and Marjorie (Ron) Gronke; brother, Paul (Esther) Seaman; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Edward Mensing, Sr.; son, Clifford Edward Mensing, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Joan Mensing; son-in-law, Rolf Halvorsen; and her sisters, Shirley and Virginia.
