Arthur E. Aronson of Arlington Heights Funeral services for Arthur E. Aronson, 90, formerly of Wheeling, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1111 Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, where he will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Born May 13, 1913, in Chicago, he died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Alexian Brothers Hospice House, Schaumburg. Interment will be in Beverly Cemetery, Blue Island. Mr. Aronson was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired industrial engineer at the A.B. Dick Company. He was a member of the board of High School District 214 for 23 years, serving as its president for two terms, and was one of the founding commissioners of the Wheeling Park District. Arthur was also one of the founding members of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where he had been a member since the 1950s. Every way in which Mr. Aronson served was rooted in his firm belief in God and the teachings of scripture. Arthur is survived by his children, Wayne (Ellen) Aronson, Georgine (Bob) Steinmiller and Carlene (the Rev. Thomas) Otis; grandchildren, Kim (Kris) Aranson, Eric and Brian (Ellen) Steinmiller and Tim Otis; brothers, Ralph (Jane) Aronson and John "Wally" (Edie) Aronson; and a sister-in-law, Alice Aronson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and life partner, Ruth D. (nee Dombrowski); son, Ward Edmund; and a brother, Carl "Boats" Aronson. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the Kolssak Funeral Home, Ltd., 189 s. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks south of Dundee Road), Wheeling.
