Albert F. Oldenburg Funeral services for Albert F. Oldenburg, 87, of Barrington since 1942, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine, where he will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Rev. Robert Clausen will officiate. Born August 22, 1916, in Elmhurst, IL, he passed away January 21, 2004, at Good Shepherd Hospital, Barrington. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. He was a truck driver, a member of Teamsters Local #673, Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine. Survivors include his spouse, Dorothy C. (nee Harz), whom he married January 8, 1944, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palatine; children, Robert Oldenburg of Barrington, Ronald (Patricia) Oldenburg of Crystal Lake, and Alan Oldenburg of Sycamore, IL; grandchildren, Carol, David, Nora, and Darcy; great-grandchildren, Mathis Mapes and Joslynn Vogann; sisters, Dorothy (Melvin) Wilkening of Elgin, Elrena Bottcher of Harvard, and Lucille Ciepley of Palatine; brother-in-law, Bill Reuter of Fox River Grove; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha (nee Hitzemann); siblings Mildred Neumann, Esther Johnson, Clarence Oldenburg, Lillian Witt, and Gladys Reuter. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington.
