Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Kasper and the Rev. Richard Floyd officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Born Aug. 15, 1917, in Durham, N.C., to Alberta and Elza Hutchings, he died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at home. Clyde moved to Barrington in 1929 where his father established the Hutchings Barber Shop. He graduated from Barrington High School, where he played football and basketball. His first job after high school was as a lifeguard at the Barrington Pool. During World War II, he worked as a sheet metal worker in the naval shipyards at Norfolk, Va. In May of 1940, Mr. Hutchings married Marion Frances Jurs at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Barrington. In Barrington, he joined his father-in-law! , Martin Jurs and brother-in-law, Richard Jurs, in the farm implement business. This business eventually became Martin Jurs and Sons Water Well Contracting and Hutch retired as its owner. He was president of the Illinois Water Well Drillers Association for several terms, and served as president of the Rotary Club of Barrington in 1971-72. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the hills of Cary Country Club and the views from various courses in Maui, Hawaii. He married Karen McLuckie Ballantine (nee Philbrook) Oct. 1, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, James (Kay) of Salida, Colo., Bonnie (Bill) Sheehan of McHenry and David (Jennifer) of Sedalia, Colo.; stepchildren, Laura (Hossein) Khandan of Chicago and Katie McLuckie of Rockford.; grandchildren, Erich (Laurie) Gaza of Arlington Heights, Amy (William) Clanton, Brian (Michelle) Gaza and Emily (Todd) Cadwell, all of Denver; stepgrandchildren, Sherry (John) Damask of McHenry and Dawn (Cagney) Cappelli of Montgomer! y, and Kayhan, Janan and Marjan Khandan of Chicago; great-grandchildre n, D.J. Clanton, Stephan and Liam Gaza; stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryan and Troy Damask, and Cagney and Will Cappelli. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Marion, on Nov. 5, 1993 in Elgin, and his brothers, Earl and Ray. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Provena Hospice, 77 N.
