Nick of Fox Lake Services for Verona E. Nick (nee Kastning), 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Born Oct. 21, 1919, in Palatine, she died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Good Shepherd Hospital. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Nick; mother of Roger (Sandra) Nick, Barbara (David) Pietrini, Gene (Laurie) Nick and Beverly Nick; grandmother of James (Theresa) Nick, Ronald (Patricia) Nick, Timothy Pietrini and Charlie Nick; great-grandmother of Ryan, Daniel and Joseph Nick; daughter of the late John and Clara Kastning; sister of Loretta (Jerome) Malburg, Ruth (the late Walter) Reid, Marge (the late Royal) Dreyer, Robert (June) Kastning, Wesley (Marlene) Kastning, the late Donald (Dolores) Kastning and the late Gertrude Kastning; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
