Interment was held privately at Chapel Hill Gardens. Born Feb. 14, 1911, in Aurora, to Lillian and Roy Lintner, she passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at the Johnson Medical Center at Windsor Park. As a young girl, her family moved to a farm on Geneva and Bloomingdale Roads. She worked on the farm, driving the truck and tractor. She graduated from Glenbard High School, where she went on to work as the secretary to the principal from 1930 until 1940. In 1933, she married Wesley Gathman, a longtime friend. They were very active at the Glen Ellyn Bible Church, where Lillian taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and worked with the youth. After Wesley died in 1968, she worked for Scripture Press from 196! 8 to 1976. Then, at the age of 65, she worked for Glen Ellyn Bible Church as a secretary to the pastor for 10 years. After retiring from the church, she worked at Firstar Bank and the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce. Christ was the center of her life! Her family, the church, and many good friends from church and Windsor Park Manor were important to her. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (James) Buettgen of Arkansas and Beverly (Marc) Bothel of Washington; two grandsons, Chris (Katharine) and Scott (Christina) Bothel; and one great-grandson, Wesley Robert Pemberton Bothel. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Lucile. Memorials may be directed to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
