Algonquin Road, South Barrington. Interment will be private. Born July 5, 1950, in Chicago, he went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday. Jan. 11, 2006, after fighting a very courageous battle with leukemia for more than 10 years. Steven attended the Palatine public schools and graduated from Fremd High School. He then went on to attend the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University, where he received his bachelors and masters degree in education and administration. Steven began and had continued his teaching career with School District 211, where he has taught U.S. History at Fremd High School for more than 30 years. Steven has touched and influenced so many students and individuals lives throughout the years. He will be remembered as a wonderful teacher who has a great sense of humor and was able to make his teaching come alive. Steven also enjoyed coaching and had been a baseball and football coach at Fremd High School for several years. Most important in Steven's life was his faith in God and his family. He was a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather to Haley, always putting others and their needs before his own. He had been an adult Sunday school teacher and was also a leader in Awana. He was a member of Willow Creek Church for 17 years. Survivors include his wife, Debra Ann Bahn (nee Johnson); children, Derek Bahn, Dena (Aaron) Blane and Brad Bahn; granddaughter, Haley Blane; brothers and sister, Fred (Denise) Bahn, Robert (Valerie) Bahn, James Bahn, Gary Bahn and Laura (Ken) Adams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret Bahn. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated for the Steven Bahn Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Cornerstone National Bank, Attn: Jane Farver, 1 W.
