Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Born Feb. 2, 1923, at the family home on Lincoln Ave. in Barrington, she passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, following a short illness. Virginia was born into a large and loving Italian family and had many fond memories of growing up in Barrington. She graduated from Barrington High School in 1941. She married Verne Kastning at St. Anne Church on April 24, 1954, and began their life together on Lake Street in Barrington. Mostly, "Geeg" loved her family and friends, her beloved Barrington, her animals, sitting! by her pool in the summer and especially being "Gam" to her cherished granddaughters and many of their friends. She will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Verne; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Eileen Kastning of Barrington, and her beloved granddaughters, Katie and Kelly Kastning; also her nieces, who were like daughters to her, Mary (Larry) Foy of Barrington, Kimberly (Rick) Broders of Palatine and Jane Capulli of Alabama. She so loved her large extended family of nieces and nephews, including Heather and Andy Foy, Thomas Broders, Brooke, Nelle and Paige Rogers and her grandson-in-law, Dan Jarva of Barrington. She is also survived by her sister, Lucille Maclennan of Venice, Fla., and her brother-in-law, Bill (Naomi) Conner of Barrington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romeo and Della (nee Caparelli); her brothers, David, Daniel and Leonard; her sister, Mary Hondo; and a niece, Sabra (Tim) Capulli Long.
