Born Sept. 5, 1934, in Elgin, the daughter of Edward and Esther Struckman, she passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Carol was a homemaker and later worked in the food service department for School District U-46. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Elgin and served on the Altar Guild and Cradle Roll. She is survived by her husband, Donald, whom she married Sept. 29, 1957; daughters, Diane (Pat) Neal of Bloomingdale and Joyce (Hal) Toenjes of Green Bay, Wis.; and grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel and Ben.
