Henk, former many-year resident of Carpentersville, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. The Rev. Jerry Fay will officiate. Born Sept. 29, 1914, in Bartlett, the daughter of Henry and Clara (nee Batt) Bruening, she died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at the Rosewood Care Center in Elgin. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was co-owner and co-operator of the Dundee News Agency for many years. She is survived by two sons, Gene (Ellen) Henk of Freeport and Terry (Darlene) Henk of Elgin; two daughters, Gloria (Edward) Hattendorf of Elgin and Trudy (Edward) Dunmeyer of Carpentersville; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon H. "Gordy" Henk on Nov. 15, 1987; one son in infancy; two sisters, Ruth Peters and Esther Breisch; a brother, Carl Bruening; and a great-granddaughter, Randi Borgmann. Please omit flowers.
