Burial will be private. Born Feb. 12, 1905, in Elgin, the daughter of George and Elsie (nee Thies) Rockwell, she died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Lucy loved to sew and garden and was an untiring volunteer at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a charter member. Lucy was also a proud member of the Elgin Moose Lodge #799. Lucy is survived by two sons, James (Jean) of Portland, Ore., and Coleman of Elgin; three grandsons, Damon, Whitney and Lowell, all of Portland; one stepgrandson, Dan Chen of Portland; two brothers, George Rockwell of California and Lyle Rockwell of Florida; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward of over 50 years; one son, Kenneth; one daughter, Judy Struck; one brother Lloyd; and two sisters, Alice Bloemke and Eunice Guptail. Memorials are preferred and may be made in Lucy's memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
